Introducing... The Heritage Shoppe
Share
There's just something so special about holding a piece of history in your hands, and making it into something you know will continue to be cherished for years to come.
Y'all, we are SO excited about this. Our Heritage Shoppe will hold a collection of natural fiber stuffed animals made from natural fiber vintage and antique quilts. These friends will be stuffed with either organic cotton or wool stuffing, and will be available in very small batches.
One of the most important things to us is being transparent with y'all. Mom to mom - I know you might have questions, because I would too! Let me try to answer them as best as I can.
FAQ
Q: How do you know what the quilts are made of?
A: From what we've learned, quilts dating back before the 1940s were exclusively made of natural fibers like cotton, wool, linen, and silk. This is because polyester wasn't around before then. Because of this, we will be sourcing quilts that are from before the time period that synthetic fibers became widely used. Unless, we know for sure that the quilt is entirely natural fibers.
Q: Are the quilts clean before you use them to make the stuffed animals?
A: Yes! We would never use a dirty quilt to make these sweet stuffed animals. These quilts have been soaked, washed, and hung out to dry and air out in some good ole sunshine. Depending on the dirtiness of the quilt, our cleaning process may vary.
Please keep in mind that these are vintage or antique quilts. I wish we could chat with the makers of these quilts, but sadly, some things we will never know. Please use your discretion. If you are concerned about past exposure to things like detergent, etc. we unfortunately cannot guarantee that this quilt has lived a toxin-free life. We have a sweet collection of stuffed animals made from organic cotton fleece that we'd love for you to explore if this is of concern.
We are honored to be able to give these quilts a new life! Here's to quilt hunting!
